Bømlo municipality

Welcome to Bømlo - the saga island where creativity lies in the people's soul!

In the island municipality of Bømlo, you are never far from the sea. You can experience wild and raw seas, but also mile-wide, dazzling seas with the North Sea as your nearest neighbour. The municipality is an eldorado for those interested in fishing, and has many accommodation options where you have the opportunity to try the fishing hatch from boat or land. From Siggjo (474 m), the highest mountain peak, there is a view from Folgefonna in the east to Haugesund in the south, and this popular hiking destination has been and is a well-known landmark.

The maritime environment characterizes the business world. The sea is also an important factor for the tourism industry, where the archipelago beckons with islets and islands, sheltered coves and canals. At Bømlo you will find a changing nature, from the barren landscape towards the sea, to more lush areas.
