Stord municipality

Stord municipality is an industrial municipality in Vestland county with approx. 19,000 inhabitants.

There is a large and varied activity both in working life and  leisure. There is a rich cultural life and there are good conditions for sports and outdoor life. There is great nature here with forest, sea, water and mountains that are close by for pleasant experiences and activities outside. There is good communication to Haugesund, Stavanger and Bergen. Kindergartens and the school board have good quality. We have secondary school, general and preschool teacher, nursing and engineering education. Stord Hospital (Stord sjukehus) is the local hospital for 50,000 inhabitants in the region of Sunnhordland.

Good rural areas, a vibrant local community and a developing business community are important cornerstones of our municipality.
